Hurray up Santa!

I'm really getting into this holiday lark! Okay we are not quite there yet because the whole family has not finished work and entertaining an eight year old daughter can be pretty challenging in this day and age of expecting to be entertained 24/7. But unusually it takes me a good week to unwind and get out of work mode and this is the first time I have stopped prior to Xmas!

Yesterday we hit Orana Park and had a good look around. I have not been there for many years and we had a great time.....feeding rhinos, feeding Cheetahs, Lion cubs and then there was the coolest flying fox. Not often in this day and age you see them. Complete with suspect hand rail as you climb up on it!

But Caetana must have had about 30 goes on it whooping and screaming as it hit the tyre at the other end. Now that is what life is about.....a bit of activity with an element of danger. Try and beat that Playstation 2 or Mr Wii!

Of course the previous day there was the visit by two school friends playing for the day (pictured above), there has been the plaster of paris modeling....first one was  a disaster (horses head fell off) but we nailed it yesterday. I'm glad I did the grocery shopping earlier in the week so we can avoid the city madness and the almost "end of the world" mentality. I mean supermarkets are only shut a couple of days (if that) yet people are stocking up for weeks! What is that about?

It is always a fun time of year and I guess having little people around always makes it extra fun! Now we just have to prepare for santa to arrive.......just like a courier delivery but for some reason he does not use doors and arrives in the middle of the night.

Enjoy

Kendall
